Mama Cash – Global Dinner Party

During this year’s Campaign 88 Days, Mama Cash has been throwing the first ever Global Dinner Party. To support women’s rights around the world, everyone could join the campaign “Cooking Up a Revolution for Women’s Rights” by hosting an online dinner party, or a real-life dinner party. More than 800 people joined, the total campaign result was approximately € 188,000. Mama Cash will invest this fantastic amount in women’s rights organisations fighting to create a better world for women, girls, and all of us. We decided to continue the global dinner party for women’s rights and not stop it at March 8. Because so many more people love to bring old and new friends together to eat, talk and support courageous women and girls’ rights groups around the world. Therefore, you can still cook dinner and make new friends for women’s rights on www.88days.mamacash.org

INWF Conference – 28,29,30 May 2007

Feminist in Action: Women creating Resources for a Better Life
Women’s funds share knowledge and strategies

A beautifully located hotel – close to the historical town Yalta on the Ukraine peninsular Crimea – was the well chosen place for this year’s conference of the International Women’s Funding Network (IWFN). A couple of new women’s funds as well as many new representatives participated in this 3 days conference, excellently hosted by the Ukraine Women’s Fund. One of the newcomers, Ingrid Verver from Mama Cash, reports on her conference experiences.

On the hot summer evening of May 27, the Mama Cash team arrived at the Kichkine Hotel nearby Yalta. Tina, Olena and a lot of other women gave us a warm welcome and arranged beers and a nice plate of food. What is better after a long trip than a cold beer on a warm terrace? Immediately Josephine, Janet, Gabrielle, our board member Marjolein and I felt at home.
